Company Employees Decamp with Cash

BARGARH : Two employees of accounts section of Ashoka Buildcon decamped with `46 lakh collected at Barahguda toll gate under Bargarh Town police limits on Tuesday. The accused were identified as Alok Singh and Dharmendra Singh belonging to Bihar.

Ashoka Buildcon, which was awarded four-laning work of a stretch of NH-6 from Sambalpur to Luhurachati on Odisha-Chhattisgarh border, has lodged a complaint with the police.

Sources said as Saturday, Sunday and Monday were holidays, the toll collected from vehicles could not be deposited in the bank and the cash was kept in the office near the toll gate.

However, when the two employees did not report to duty on Tuesday, company authorities suspected foul play. They could not be contacted over phone. After all efforts to trace them proved futile, the company informed the police.
