BHUBANESWAR: A 35-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house at Harichandi Sahi in Old Town of the city on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Debasis Behera. He was spotted by his brother Dibya Ranjan while hanging himself with a plastic rope.
Dibya rushed his brother to the Capital Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The body was sent for autopsy and a case of unnatural death registered at Lingaraj police station.
Investigation was on to ascertain the reason which forced Behera to take the extreme step, a police official said.
