BHUBANESWAR: Police Commissionerate of the Twin City on Monday night detained a person for his alleged hand in a student clash which occurred at Utkal University here on Sunday night.
After Chandrasekhapur Police rounded up the man, who owns a fitness centre in the city, his supporters tried to gherao the police station. Senior officials of the Police Commissionerate including an Additional DCP-ranked officer, an ACP and three IICs were rushed to the spot.
Till last reports came in, one platoon of force was deployed on the police station premises to keep an eye on the situation.
