BHUBANESWAR: ‘Hruday Ballav’, a collection of devotional songs dedicated to Lord Jagannath, was released at a function here on Tuesday.
With lyrics penned by legendary Prafulla Kar, the devotional album is sung by noted Odia vocalist Susmita Das. Music for the songs has been composed by Om Prakash Mohanty. An audio CD of the song collection was released by Revenue Minister Bijayshree Routray on the occasion. While dedicating the song collection to Lord Jagannath, Das said she was fortunate to have the CD released during Nabakalebara. “The CD is an offering to the presiding deity of Odisha,” Das added.
Known for her soul stirring rendition of both traditional and contemporary styles of music, Das enthralled the audience with her performance which followed the music release ceremony.
Among others, Chief Secretary GC Pati and Paradeep Phosphates Ltd CEO Ravindra Raju were present.
