JAGATSINGHPUR: One Sarada Sethy (55) was killed over land dispute in Radhang village under Raghunathpur police limits of Jagatsinghpur district on Tuesday.

Sources said Sarada and his neighbour Sudam Sethy were at loggerheads over ownership of a patch of land. Despite protests by Sudam’s family, Sarada continued to plant saplings on the land and both the families entered into an altercation on Monday. On Tuesday, when Sarada was sowing seeds, an angry Sudam attacked him with a spade, killing him on the spot.

Hearing Sarada scream, his family members rushed to the spot, only to find him dead. Raghunathpur police seized the body. Sudam has surrendered at Jagatsinghpur police station and confessed his crime.
