Government Flayed for Poor Infra Work Quality

BHUBANESWAR: The All Odisha Contractors' Association on Wednesday slammed the Government for favouring big firms from outside the State for infrastructure projects related to Nabakalebara.

Addressing mediapersons, the association said the Government's favouritism is proving costly as the quality of work has been affected.

“Since most projects were awarded at the last moment deliberately, the firms had no time to keep a tab on the quality of work. It has resulted in sub-standard work,” president of the association Prabhat Das said, pointing at the caving of a manhole at Jail Road in Puri.

The association alleged that the quality of construction work of highways and bridges is also low.
