BHUBANESWAR: The Police Commissionerate, during its investigation into attack on journalists by chit fund scam accused Ranjan Das and his associates, has found that the footage from a CCTV camera installed outside his house has been tampered.
Das was arrested and remanded to judicial custody for assaulting and intimidating a photo journalist at gunpoint on Tuesday.
Badagada police had seized CCTV camera drives, laptop, desktop and a few other storage devices from the house of Dash. The investigators would engage hardware experts to retrieve the CCTV footage which has been deleted from the drives.
The police are likely to book Das, who is currently lodged in Special Jail, Jharpada on charges of destruction of evidence, sources said.
