State Records Fall in Decadal Growth Rate

BHUBANESWAR: The decadal growth rate in Odisha has declined by 2.28 per cent to reach 13.97 per cent between 2001 and 2011, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak said.

Speaking at a function organised on World Population Day (WPD) here on Saturday, Nayak said the department has initiated Reproductive Health Contraceptive Logistics Management Information System (RHCLMIS) with support from UNFPA, which has successfully addressed the issue of contraceptive stock outs in all 30 districts by strengthening the supply chain.” Couples in rural areas were educated on spacing childbirths and health workers facilitated delivery of contraceptives, he added.

Best performing districts were awarded and top performers among female health workers, ASHAs and surgeons were felicitated.
