BJD to Form Councils in 16 Coop Bodies

BHUBANESWAR: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) won in 274 out of 305 zones of the apex cooperative societies and is going to form councils in 16 apex cooperative societies.

 The win in the cooperative election has again proved the popularity of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, former minister and in-charge of cooperative election in BJD Ranendra Pratap Swain said.

 Swain said BJD had also won in 6,203 out of 6,507 primary cooperative societies elections to which were also held. Out of 16 central cooperative banks, 15 has come under the control of BJD while Congress has won one, he said.
