Offices Closed by BJP for Govt Indifference

TALCHER: Alleging negligence by the State Government towards development of Talcher, hundreds of BJP activists took out a rally in the town and closed down Government offices on Friday. They were led by former MP Rudra Narayan Pani and BJP State Working Committee member Kalandi Samal. The offices of the Sub-Collector and Deputy Director of Mines were also forcibly closed down.

Addressing the rally, Pani and Samal accused the Angul Collector of being a stooge of the BJD. They also alleged that Talcher MLA was involved in unlawful activities and was creating trouble in the area.

“Talcher, which yields high revenue for the State, is facing acute scarcity of doctors and teachers. People are also being subjected to hour-long power cuts,” they said and added that crime rate has increased in the area. Later, the agitators also burnt the effigies of the Collector and local MLA.
