CUTTACK: The JPM Rotary Club of Cuttack Eye Hospital and Research Institute has set up a Vision Care centre at Nayabazar to extend primary eye healthcare services to the community doorstep.
The centre is well equipped to provide all primary eye care services like correction of refractive errors and low cost spectacles, detect potentially blinding problems such as cataract, glaucoma as well as vitamin A deficiency to the people at the grassroots and refer them to the hospital.
The Vision Care centre will also undertake regular community screening programmes to detect different opthalmological problems among the people so that timely interventions can be effected. Besides, making appropriate referrals, the centre would share information with public health administration for necessary action both for preventive as well as curative purposes.
The Vision Care centre located on the premises of Purbanchal Samiti, Naya Bazaar, was inaugurated by Advocate General SP Mishra on Monday.
