BHADRAK:Three persons of a family were killed and nine others injured in a road accident near Chatabara Chhack on NH-5 under Bhandaripokhari police limits on Wednesday. The deceased are Ganesh Rout (40), his wife Sanjulata (35) and their 14-year-old daughter, Bijaya. They were residents of Rajgharpur village under Basudevpur police limits in the district.
Police said the accident took place at 3 am when the three along with nine of their relatives were returning from Puri in an SUV.
The speeding vehicle collided with a stationary truck near Chatabara Chhack. While the couple died on the spot, their daughter succumbed at the District Headquarters Hospital in Bhadrak.
The rest nine were also admitted to Bhadrak Hospital but later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack after their condition deteriorated.
