The hostel inmates and staff communicated the matter to Khandagiri police. Manish was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Soon after the news spread, hundreds of students gathered outside IMS raising slogans against the management. Glass panes and stationery items were damaged as the agitators  pelted stones at the college building demanding resignation of the Vice-Chancellor.

“He was a good student but not allowed to sit for the semester examinations because of attendance shortage. Manish was under depression over this matter for the last one week,” his friend said, requesting anonymity.
