Senior Clerk under Vigilance Scanner

 SUNDARGARH:  Vigilance sleuths on Sunday conducted raids at seven places in Sundargarh district and found two ‘Benaami’ properties owned by a senior clerk, Rabi Ratna Khilei (55) who is posted at Sundargarh Sub-Collectorate.

On a complaint against Khilei of possessing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income, the raids were conducted that led to disclosure of assets worth Rs 1.33 crore.

Documents related to the ‘Benaami’ properties were seized and it was found that Khilei owned a building at Patrapali in Sundargarh town in the name of a BPL person, who is now dead, amounting to Rs 1.21 crore.

Sundargarh-based Vigilance DSP P Kisan informed that Khilei useAd the name of one Prabin Nayak to buy a car worth Rs 9.5 lakh on loan. The car, however, remains in Khilei’s possession and he has even paid loan instalments worth Rs 3.85 lakh.

Bank deposits, gold and diamond ornaments and two vehicles, all worth Rs 8.5 lakh, were seized from his possession.
