A Karma Yogi in True Sense, Says Naveen

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and a host of leaders from different political parties have condoled the death of former President APJ Abdul Kalam.

“I am deeply shocked at the sad demise of former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. He was one of the most illustrious Presidents of the country, who was a visionary leader and a gifted scientist. He was instrumental in strengthening the country’s defence capabilities,” Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said in his condolence message.

Describing Kalam as one of the finest human beings of the time, the Chief Minister said the former President inspired and guided millions of children to follow their dream and explore their inherent talent. He has also written several inspiring books for children.

“Kalam had a special relationship with Odisha and Biju Babu. He had visited our State several times as a scientist, as President and even after his presidency. He was always in the heart of the people of Odisha. He was a people’s president and a Karma Yogi in its truest meaning,” the Chief Minister said adding, the country lost one of its noblest sons.

Condoling the death of the former President, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan said the missile man will continue to inspire the future generations for his noble deeds.

Recalling Kalam’s close association with the State, senior Congress leader and former minister Niranjan Patnaik said the missile man has always endeavoured to keep the country secure and a progressive nation. The country lost a great scientist and a statesman, he said.
