PURI: Two miscreants were arrested and a mauser with live cartridges seized from their possession by Kumbharpara police on Wednesday.
In the wee hours of Wednesday, the miscreants arrived in a scooter at Majana Jaga near Balagani Square along the Grand Road and opened fire at a group of youths sitting there. While no one was injured, the miscreants tried to flee from the spot but fell down as their two-wheeler skidded off the road. Locals caught hold of one of them while the other managed to run away. Locals handed over the miscreant, Siba Bhoi, to police and during interrogation Bhoi provided information about his accomplice, Kabu. Police managed to arrest Kabu from his house on Wednesday morning. The incident was the fallout of past enmity, police said.
