Five Women Chain Snatchers Nabbed

PURI:Five women of West Bengal were arrested on the charges of snatching gold chains, mobile phones and wallets of devotees accompanying the cart carrying the sacred Daru for making the new idol of Lord Jagannath at Pipili.

They are Sumati Mudalier (26), Meena Sau (36), Aiswarya Singh (35), Durga Singh (27) and Usha Singh (23). They were produced in a court in Pipili, which remanded them in judicial custody on Friday. The women, suspected to be members of a chain looting syndicate based in Hooghly district of West Bengal, were caught while snatching gold chains from women devotees at Pipili on Bhubaneswar-Puri Highway on Wednesday.
