CUTTACK: The Millennium City recorded its first sun stroke death as a 45-year-old man allegedly succumbed to the intense heat on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Trinath Das of Ranihat Teli Sahi. Sources said after answering the call of nature, Trinath had gone to wash in Ranihat canal. Suddenly, he collapsed following which locals called 108 Ambulance service.

However, Trinath succumbed before the ambulance reached the spot.

Gamblers Held

Cuttack: Mangalabag police on Thursday night conducted a raid on a gambling den at Ranihat Canal Road and arrested two persons from the spot. The arrested are Trilochan Sahoo of Mala Sahi and Rajanikanta Sahoo alias Dipu of Ranihat Teli Sahi. Police also seized cash of Rs.1250, four mobile phones, a calculator and other incriminating items from the spot.
