PURI: Technical experts of SINTEX and MAPAI, New Delhi-based organisations with an expertise in conservation of heritage sites, inspected the damaged portions in Jagannath temple’s Jagamohan here on Tuesday. The ASI has approached these organisations to study the nature of conservation works required in the 12th century shrine.
The experts revealed that there are three major cracks in the north-west portion of the Jagamohan roof and suggested de-plastering the lime coating in the inner roof to facilitate carbon mapping of the stones which will help in assessing the extent of damage. A roadmap will be prepared for the repair work within a fortnight that would be submitted to the ASI for clearance.
