Cops Deployed in MKCG

BERHAMPUR: A group of medical students tried to close the Casualty Ward and Outdoor at the MKCGMCH on Thursday in protest against arrest of their classmates.

In the last two days, nine medicos have been arrested for allegedly attacking journalists, three youths and some policemen on the MCH campus. Protesting the arrests, students had boycotted classes on Wednesday and staged dharna outside the medical college. Showing solidarity, junior doctors also refrained from their duties. On Thursday, students tried to close the Casualty Ward and Outdoor to disrupt medical services. Collector Prem Chandra Choudhary and Berhampur SP Sarthak Sadangi reached the spot. Armed police were deployed.
