SONEPUR:At least 100 students of Upgraded High School at Kenpali under Birmaharajpur block of the district were taken ill after consuming Mid-day Meal (MDM) on Saturday.
Sources said after eating rice, dal and egg curry for noon meal, some students complained of colic pain and started vomiting. However, the condition of six students deteriorated, forcing the school authorities to shift them to Birmaharajpur Sub-divisional Headquarters Hospital. The other children were discharged after primary treatment. The exact cause behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. Birmaharajpur block chairperson Ranjit Rath and SDPO PK Biswal rushed to the hospital to take the stock of the situation.
