BJD-BJP Poster War Continues

BHUBANESWAR: The poster war between ruling BJD and the BJP hit a new low on Saturday with miscreants defacing some of the posters depicting the picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his visit to the State.

Posters of the Prime Minister put up along the Raj Bhawan to AG Square and on the Sachivalay Marg were smeared with black paint late Friday night hours after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s posters and banners were torn and grounded.

The soiled posters of the Prime Minister were removed by the City Police immediately after this was brought to their notice by the BJP. BJP Yuva Morcha president Biswaranjan Badjena filed an FIR in the Kharvelnagar police station demanding stringent action against the miscreants.

Condemning the incident, BJP spokesperson Samir Mohanty blamed the ruling BJD for it. Mohanty said the police can easily find out the culprits from the CCTV footage.

Activists of BJP Yuva Morcha protested the incident by staging a demonstration near the State party office and urged the police to take prompt action against the miscreants.
