Bonda MLA Invited to US

MALKANGIRI:Dambaru Sisa, the first Bonda MLA of the State representing Chitrakonda Assembly in Malkangiri district, has been invited to attend a leadership programme in the US.

Sources said Sisa will attend the International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) on the topic ‘USA Government for young Political Leaders’ to be held in the US in May this year.

Announcing his selection at a Press meet here on Saturday, Sisa said the three-week project begins on May 9 and he will leave Bhubaneswar on May 6. He, along with other participants from India, will gain exposure to  distribution of political power and role of public/private partnership in the US.

Participants will learn about  implementation of the US foreign policy, particularly towards South Asia, and understand the vitality of the Indian-American community, as well as US Constitutional guarantees protecting civil liberties, Sisa said.

Besides Washington, he will also visit at least two more cities to observe the diversity of the US before returning on May 30.
