MALKANGIRI:The State Government has sanctioned `25 lakh for construction of a mini stadium at Balimela College of Science and Technology, the premier educational institution of the district.
This was informed by Chitrakonda MLA Dambaru Sisha while speaking at the annual function of the college on Wednesday. Sisha, who is also president of governing body of the college, said steps will be taken for all round development of the college and to get record of rights (RoR) of the land in favour of the institution.
He said Sports and Youth Services Minister Sudam Marndi has recently approved the budget, of which, `20 lakh has already been released in the first phase. Sisha also expressed concern over the poor quality of newly constructed building of the college which developed cracks in walls.
Balimela NAC Chairperson Laxmi Pangi, principal K Rama Rao and students’ union president Ch Tirupati were present.
