BHUBANESWAR: Noted playback singer Anuradha Paudwal will receive the ninth Prafulla Kar Samman.
The award comprises `1 lakh and a citation. Paudwal will be conferred the honour during the 77th birth anniversary celebration of Kar.
The Prafulla Kar Foundation, which announced the award, said the acclaimed singer and musician’s birth anniversary will be celebrated over a two-day function at Rabindra Mandap beginning February 15. The award ceremony will be followed by a rendition by Paudwal and vocalist Mahaprasad Kar.
On the second day of the event, noted singers Pranab Pattanayak and Chitta Jena, will perform classics sung and composed by Kar.
