KEONJHAR:  Normal life was hit in Keonjhar due to the bandh called by the members of the District Joint Action Committee over their five-point charter of demands.

Government offices, banking institutions, courts and educational institutions remained closed. Bhubaneswar-Keonjhar passenger express and Barbil-Puri intercity express were cancelled.  They were demanding establishment of a Government Medical College and a steel plant in Keonjhar district, unitary university status to Dharanidhar Autonomous College and rail link to sub-divisional headquarters at Champua and Anandpur.
