BHUBANESWAR: While the accused persons in the firing incident at Press Colony here on Sunday are still at large, Kharvela Nagar police have detained the owner of a two-wheeler which was used in the crime.
The accused Manoj and Pintu of Shantipalli slum under Kharvela Nagar police limits used the bike of Lulu Biswal of the same area to flee after committing the crime. While police suspect Biswal to be a close associate of the accused, his criminal antecedents are being verified.
“A team has been formed to nab the duo,” Police Commissioner YB Khurania said.
On Sunday evening, two motorcyclists halted near a meat shop at Press Colony near Sriya Talkies and fired at Kamalakanta Mohanty and Madhusudhan Nayak. They sustained bullet injuries on leg and are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital here.
