Odisha CM Warns Officials on Housing Scheme

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday warned that strong action will be taken against officials harassing beneficiaries under the rural housing schemes of the Government.

The Chief Minister, who reviewed implementation of different welfare schemes through video conferencing with the district Collectors, asked the officials to ensure quality of houses. He said all kutcha houses should be converted to pucca ones in all mineral-based districts by August 15, 2016.

Besides, Naveen also asked the Collectors to dispose of all applications under NFSA by the end of this month. The State Government had received 21 lakh applications for inclusion and deletion from NFSA beneficiaries. Till now, only 11 lakh applications have been disposed of.

The Chief Minister also asked the Collectors to finalise the list of beneficiaries under Nirman Shramik Pucca Ghar Yojana by Match 5. Introduction of Aahar schemes in new districts and construction of model schools and mini-stadiums were also reviewed.
