PARADIP: Members of Biju Memorial Trust have decided to construct a ‘Biju Minar’ at Kalinga Baliyatra Ground here in memory of former chief minister Biju Patnaik. Odisha Governor S C Jamir will lay the foundation stone on the occasion of birth centenary of Biju Babu on March 5, said Excise Minister and president of the Trust Damodar Rout.
During a meeting, the Trust decided to launch a ‘Biju Prachar Rath’ to create awareness about the contribution of Biju Babu towards the State, including establishment of Paradip Port, among the people. A souvenir ‘Adyapi’ will also be released on the occasion. The birthday of Biju Patnaik is being observed as Panchayati Raj Divas in the State.
