Sunil Mishra likely to be Odisha CIC

BHUBANESWAR: Retired director general of income tax in Karnataka and Goa Sunil Mishra is likely to be the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of Odisha.
Mishra will succeed former chief secretary TK Mishra. The post of CIC was vacant for the last two years.
Mishra was reported to have been selected at the meeting presided by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Leader of Opposition Narasingh Mishra and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Arukha also attended the selection committee meeting.


Two other names - retired chief secretary of Odisha SK Panda and additional chief secretary in Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) UN Behera - were also considered at the meeting. The Leader of Opposition said there was unanimity in the meeting.
