The Athmallick bus tragedy has shocked the people of Boudh  as five persons of the district died in the accident.

BOUDH:  The Athmallick bus tragedy has shocked the people of Boudh  as five persons of the district died in the accident. The ill-fated bus, which left Boudh at around 7.30 am on Friday, fell from a bridge on a dry river bed killing 19 persons and injuring 30 others. The deceased include a couple Rabindra Kumar Mahakud (40) and wife Ranilata Mahakud (35) of San Butupali  village under Sarsara panchayat, a retired teacher Dhanu Padhi (66) of the same village, Sadhu Charan Pradhan of Gudguda village under Manamunda police limits and Debasis Nayak of Kutijhar village under Harbhanga police limits.  However, luck smiled on seven-year-old daughter of Mahakud couple who escaped narrowly with minor injuries. The shocked villagers are awaiting arrival of the bodies. Boudh Collector Madhusudan Mishra said the relatives of deceased will be provided all possible help.
