RAYAGADA: Mina Sabara (50) was hacked to death at Bhurkudi village under Gudari police limits here on Wednesday following a land dispute. The accused, Narendra Mandala, attacked Mina and his wife, Sumati Sabara following an altercation over a patch of land. Mina died on the spot.
Sumati sustained injuries in the attack and has been admitted to the DHH. Narendra was later arrested by Gudari police.
Diarrhoea claims 2
Two persons, including a minor, died of diarrhoea at Kucheli village in Niyamgiri hills under Munikhol panchayat of Muniguda block on Wednesday. More than 10 persons have been affected by the disease. The village is located in the remote pocket of Niyamgiri hills and has no health workers. ADMO (Health) BLN Prusty informed that following a complaint, a health team will visit the village on Thursday to take the stock of the situation.
