Inmates suffer from diarrhoea

BERHAMPUR: Panic gripped Taptapani Sevashram under Sanakhemundi block in Ganjam district after two girl inmates suffered from diarrhoea on Thursday.

The girls complained of loose motion and vomiting. They were later admitted to Digapahandi hospital from where one has been shifted to MKCGMCH.

Though the reason behind the spread of the infection is not yet ascertained, doctors apprehend consumption of contaminated water.

Dead lizard in water tank

Mid-day meal could not be served to the students of Bhagabat Swamy upgraded high school at Takarada under Buguda block in Ganjam district on Friday after a dead lizard was found from the school water tank.

The food was cooked from the water of the tank. Before taking food, some students went to the tank to get water and found the lizard floating.
