Man trampled to death  

In yet another incident of elephant attack, a 60-year-old man was trampled to death by an elephant at Kudaloi village under Lakhanpur block of Jharsuguda district early on Tuesday.

JHARSUGUDA: In yet another incident of elephant attack, a 60-year-old man was trampled to death by an elephant at Kudaloi village under Lakhanpur block of Jharsuguda district early on Tuesday.


 The villagers heard an elephant damaging their property at around 2 am. Frightened, they started to flee their homes. Amidst the commotion, the elephant trampled Budham Nag to death.


 Irate villagers later blocked the busy NH-49 from 7 am to 3 pm near Bikchapara Chowk on Tuesday.  
Jharsuguda Divisional Forest Officer Arjun Behera said a compensation of `three lakh will be provided to Nag’s family. 


In a similar incident on Sunday, the same tusker had killed another man in Belpahar forest range area of the district.
