Naveen to inaugurate Biju Minar

PARADIP  : Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate Biju Minar at Biju Maidan and a Yatri Nivas near Sea Beach road here on March 5 to mark the birth centenary celebration of Biju Patnaik.


A meeting, chaired by Cooperation and Excise Minister Damodar Rout on Thursday, reviewed the preparation at  Paradip Biju Memorial Trust (PBMT). Rout asked the officials of Paradip Municipality and district officials to expedite the construction work.

It has been decided that the ceremony will continue for a week from the date of inauguration where art, literature and cultural programmes will be organised, Trust secretary and  Paradip Municipality chairman Basanta Biswal said.


 According to sources, 50-foot high Biju Minar is being constructed at an estimated cost of `30 lakh. Yatri Nivas, comprising 52 rooms, will be built at a cost of ` three crore.
