BHUBANESWAR: Bittihotra Mohanty, son of former DG rank officer of Odisha Police Bidya Bhusan Mohanty, was released from Jaipur Central Jail on Thursday nearly a month after the Rajasthan High Court quashed his parole violation case.
On March 31, the Supreme Court had granted him conditional bail in the sensational foreign national rape case but the jail authorities had not released him as the parole jumping case was sub-judice.
Bitti’s counsel had moved the Rajasthan High Court seeking immediate relief in the parole violation case. Disposing of the case in May, the High Court had directed to release the convict from the jail on July 6.
