CUTTACK: Kissan Nagar police on Saturday arrested a man for raising the modesty of a 25-year-old female home guard. The accused has been identified as Pradipta Das alias Gaura (45) of Sompur. A video clip featuring the incident had gone viral on social media for the last few days.
Later, Gaura, who is the husband of local Panchayat Samiti member, went to the home guard’s house to inform her father about the matter. He reportedly rebuked the home guard for her involvement in the incident.
But she refused her involvement and then filed an FIR with the SP, Cuttack (Rural) who directed the Kissan Nagar police to register a case and take necessary action. Acting on the direction, a case was registered under various sections of IPC and IT Act and Gaura was arrested, said Kissan Nagar IIC Prabhas Sahu.
