BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday asked the Commissionerate of Police to inquire into the alleged harassment of a lady journalist of a regional news portal while she was travelling in a bus to Bhubaneswar from Kendrapara on Wednesday. The scribe was harassed in the bus full of passengers but apparently no one protested.
The conductor too asked her to remain quiet instead of taking any action. The lady said though she dialled 100, the Police Control Room number, the call did not go through. Later, she rang 1091, women helpline of Police Commissionerate but allegedly no one responded.
The journalist then posted the whole incident on her Facebook account. The Chief Minister's Office took up the matter and directed Police Commissioner YB Khurania to inquire into it. Khurania has asked Cuttack DCP to conduct a detailed probe into the incident.
