JEYPORE: Sarispadar gang-rape victim was admitted to Jeypore Sub-Divisional Hospital (SDH) after she complained of stomach pain on Saturday. According to sources, the victim, who was undergoing treatment at Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital (LNMCH), Koraput for the past 15 days, was discharged on Friday after her condition was found to be stable.
Subsequently, she recorded her statement before the JMFC court of Koraput. Later, owing to security reasons, her family members wanted her to be under the protection of district child protection committee. Amid tight security, she was sent to a shelter home at Souraguda under Jeypore police limits. However, on Saturday, she complained of stomach pain and was admitted to Jeypore hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
Jeypore SDMO D B Tripathy said the reason behind the pain is being investigated and if required, she would be admitted to Koraput LNMC again for further treatment.
Sources said though the girl wants to go back to her village, the family members of the victim refused to take her home till she gets justice.
