BHUBANESWAR: Sagarika Kar is traumatised. She was bringing her 81-year-old father-in-law from Khurda to Bhubaneswar on Monday for treatment and what she experienced has left her completely disillusioned. Not only did the BJD activists block her way, the rampaging ruling party workers damaged her vehicle as her fervent appeals fell on deaf ears. She described the nightmare in a series of tweets. “Dear CM, I’m a woman. I was takin my father-in-law to hsptl.
Your party workers attacked n damaged my car. U lost my respect,” she said. She requested them several times and even showed the medical document hoping that they would listen but in vain. “The patient was on the front seat. My father in-law is in trauma now. Thank God!! the windshield did not break. Not sure what could hv happened,” she tweeted. Kar regrets that she ventured out with an 81-year-old patient on a day claimed to be a peaceful protest.
“Our CM talks about woman safety n security. Ashamed,” she tweeted. BJD surely lost her vote as well that of her relatives, she said. “Shame on woman safety and security propaganda. Shame on peaceful protest for public.” Her posts garnered huge response as people expressed their concern not only for her welfare but also about the state of affairs in the State.
