Sahitya Bharati Samman for Satkodi Hota

 The prestigious ‘Sahitya Bharati Samman’ will be conferred on noted writer Satkodi Hota for his research pursuits and outstanding contribution towards the uplift of Odia culture.

BHUBANESWAR: The prestigious ‘Sahitya Bharati Samman’ will be conferred on noted writer Satkodi Hota for his research pursuits and outstanding contribution towards the uplift of Odia culture. The Samman constituted by Shri Gangadhar Rath Foundation carries a silver emblem of the Konark Sun Temple and a cash prize of `1 lakh.

Apart from it, three other awards have also been announced by the foundation on Tuesday. While ‘Bhanujee Rao Smaraki Puraskar’ will be presented to eminent poet Hrushikesh Mallick, eminent fictionist Alaka Chand will be honoured with ‘Binapani Mohanty Katha Sahitya Puraskar’. The awards carry cash prizes of `25,000 each.

Similarly, writer Baijayanti Mishra and poet Amiya Ranjan Mohapatra have been selected for ‘Subrat Rath Smaraki Puraskar’. They will get cash reward of `10,000 each.‘Shri Gangadhar Rath Smaraki Samman’, constituted in the memory of the founder, will be given to noted educationalist Prof Pravhat Kumar Mishra for his achievements in the field of education and sports in the last five decades. The awards will be presented by Chief Justice Vineet Saran at Kala Vikash Kendra, Cuttack on March 11. Dr Archana Nayak and Trustee Dr Jayant Rath will attend.
