Award for Bhawanipatna Vig unit

According to official reports, 24 Vigilance cases were reported in 2017 of which, there were seven cases of misappropriation, four disproportionate asset and 11 Vigilance traps.

BHAWANIPATNA:  Bhawanipatna Vigilance unit has been adjudged as the best performing unit in the State for 2017 and its DSP Satyaban Mahnand the best investigating officer for the year. The awards will be presented at a State-level function to be held on November 3 in Bhubaneswar.

According to official reports, 24 Vigilance cases were reported in 2017 of which, there were seven cases of misappropriation, four disproportionate asset and 11 Vigilance traps. In the current financial year so far, 10 cases have been reported of which, five are misappropriation cases and as many more trap cases. Last year, 16 Vigilance cases were heard by Special Vigilance Judge Court in Bhawanipatna and 10 of them ended in conviction. This year, nine cases have been reported of which, six ended in conviction.

On Tuesday, the district level Vigilance Week was observed in the DRDA conference hall  here. The meeting was chaired by Vigilance SP (Koraput division) Harekrushna Behera, who called for cooperation from all quarters and public awareness to weed out corruption from society. Collector Parag Gavali and SP B Gangadhar attended.
