Four held for rape of minor girl

BONAI (SUNDARGARH) : The four of five accused involved in gang-rape of a minor girl near Takra village under Lahunipara police limits in Bonai sub-division were arrested on Tuesday. Search is on for the fifth accused.The incident took place on Saturday evening when the girl was speaking to her acquaintance at Takra Chowk.

The accused Jakrias Xalxo, aged 25, of her village offered to give her a lift to her house on his two-wheeler. Xalxo accompanied by another culprit Prashant Patra, aged 23, took her on his two-wheeler and after some distance, they took a diversion to a lonely place. Three others joined them and four of them committed the crime, while the fifth accused Kalandi Patra, aged 45, stood guard.

Arrested persons are Jakrias, Prashant, Kalandi and Raj Kumar Patra, aged 24, while the name of the absconding accused was not disclosed. They would be forwarded to court on Wednesday.On October 11, five persons were arrested by the nearby K Balang police of the sub-division after they had gang-raped a 19-year-old girl while she was returning to Motu Honuman village on a motor-cycle with her cousin.
