A country-made bomb was hurled at a transgender’s house at Kakayanthoppu near Ariyankuppam here on Thursday night.

However, the bomb, which exploded, neither damaged the house nor caused injury to its inmates. Police suspect that a motorcycle-borne gang would have hurled the bomb on Raji alias Rajalaksmi’s house and escaped in the cover of darkness.

Police have registered a case in this connection against one Eli alias Udaya and his associate, who is said to have approached  Raji a few days ago, for some favours.  Raji had lodged a complaint with the police.

One Held For Teacher’s Murder

Police arrested one Aiyappan in connection with the murder of the primary school teacher B Chezhian, who was killed in Nonankuppam a few days ago.  However, the police are yet to trace two of Aiyappan’s accomplices.
