Victim Viswanathan was involved in an affair with Uma for 3 years

A 28-year-old unmarried man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his 34-year-old lover’s house at EB Colony in Kalinjur on Friday morning. The police said that the deceased, Viswanathan, was found dead at the house of Uma, a widow and mother of two, with whom he was reportedly having an affair.

Police said that Viswanathan, an electrician and a resident of Vanjur, was having an affair with Uma after her husband Ganesh died three years ago.

On Thursday night, he went to Uma’s house and slept there. However, as he did not get up on Friday morning even after 8 am, Uma tried to wake him up and found him dead.

She informed Viswanathan’s elder brother Devaraj about his death over the telephone. On getting information, Devaraj lodged a complaint with Vriuthampet police in this regard.

The police registered a case under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and sent Viswanathan’s body for post mortem to the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital at  Adukkamparai.

The police said that there were no external injuries on the deceased’s body and they would proceed in the case based on the outcome of the autopsy report.

Two Killed in Road Accident

Tiruvannamalai: Two persons, including a guest lecturer of a Government Arts College, were killed in a road accident when a vehicle hit their two-wheeler at Pappanthangal village near Moranam during the late hours of Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Balaji (27) of Kadaladi village near Polur and M Rajesh (30) of Vadathandalam in Cheyyar. Balaji, a guest lecturer at the Cheyyar Government Arts College, was riding the motorbike with Rajesh on the pillion.

They duo was returning from Rantham village, said the police.

The motorists were knocked down by an unidentified vehicle near Pappanthangal village around 10 pm on Thursday.

Balaji died on the spot while Rajesh succumbed to his injuries at the Government Hospital at Cheyyar later in the day, said the police.The Moranam Police have registered a case and were investigating it.
