Bhuvaneshwari arrested again

Actress Bhuvaneshwari was arrested again on Tuesday and remanded to judicial custody in connection with a case registered in Madipakkam last year.

Police said that Vinayagaraj, a realtor, had bought a car from Bhuvaneshwari for `5 lakh. Soon after, the actress went to his house and asked his wife for the car keys on the pretext of taking her sarees which were inside the vehicle. The actress allegedly left with the vehicle after getting the keys and also  threatened Vinayagaraj when he asked for the car or at least his money. Bhuvaneshwari had been arrested a few days ago for assault in a theatre at Injambakkam.

Child Dies of Food Poisoning

A seven-year-old boy died on Monday at the Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children in Egmore where he had been admitted for stomach pain he developed after eating biriyani.

Mohan Kumar, a resident of HMI Street in Jam Bazaar and a Class II student, had reportedly eaten biriyani containing groundnuts from a shop in that neighbourhood on Sunday night. Soon after, the boy complained of stomach pain and fainted. He was rushed to a private hospital which suggested that he be taken to the children’s hospital, where he died .

Gold, Silver Stolen from Pawn Shop

About 50 sovereigns of gold and one kg of silver were allegedly stolen from a pawn shop run by a man from Rajasthan in Chengalpet on Tuesday. Chengalpet taluk police said that Nemaram’ shop neither had licence nor CCTV cameras.

Teenager’s Body Found in Well

The body of an 18-year-old boy, who was reportedly missing, was found floating in a well near Uthiramerur in Kancheepuram district on Tuesday.  Imran, son of Asim Bai, a leather trader from Bazaar Street, went missing on Sunday and his parents reported it to the police. After Imran’s two-wheeler was spotted near the well, police went to the spot and found his body floating.

2 Held for Burglary

The city police arrested two persons who were involved in a series of house breaking incidents in Adambakkam on Tuesday. Police picked up Raji alias Rajesh (32)of Ambedkar Nagar, Adambakkam,  Kannan (30)of Guindy and seized a laptop and 1.5 sovereign gold jewellery .
