MDMK leader Vaiko chose to keep mum on differences between him and Nanjil Sampath, despite the latter having shifted his loyalty to the AIADMK.
“I am not willing to say anything on that now,” Vaiko told reporters on Wednesday, when asked about Nanjil Sampath, one of the second-rung leaders of the MDMK, who joined the AIADMK as its deputy propaganda secretary on Tuesday.
Vaiko was in Madurai to attend the wedding of Madurai urban district MDMK secretary Bominathan’s daughter. Ever since differences erupted between Vaiko and Nanjil Sampath after a few MDMK cadre burnt the effigy of the latter at his native village Mankavillai in Nagercoil district, Vaiko has been maintaining silence over the issue.
Vaiko, told the mediapersons not to ask about the issue. A senior journalist in Madurai remarked , it was rather strange to see Vaiko keeping silence on the matter for such a long time. Speaking at the marriage function, Vaiko cautioned the youth not to fall prey to communal and caste politics.
