G Swaminathan, former AIADMK MP andan industrialist, died at a private hospital here yesterday.
He is survived by wife and a daughter.
A native of Thanjavur, 81-year-old Swaminathan was amember of Rajya Sabha between 1986 and 1998.
Condoling his death, AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister JJayalalithaa said Swaminathan had served as member of TamilNadu Legislative Council and party's Parliamentary Party groupleader.
