Repair works undertaken to rectify a crack on the railway track near Ekattur railway station near Thiruvallur delayed three express trains and two local trains plying towards Arakkonam from Chennai on Monday morning.

Staff of the railway track maintenance team spotted a crack on the track between Ekattur and Thiruvallur railway stations and alerted senior officials. Trains bound to Coimbatore from Chennai Central, Kovai Express, Sapthagiri Express and Duronto Express, as well as two local trains headed for Arakkonam were stopped at various locations.

Regular traffic resumed after the track was repaired.
