Winter session of Puducherry Assembly to begin on December 28

The winter session of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly would begin on December 28, following the approval by  Lieutenant Governor Iqbal Singh on Friday.

The session is generally held for a day or two as a constitutional requirement, since it was necessary for the Assembly to meet once in six months.

Obituary references, assent to Bills and important legislations were  expected to be taken up during the session of the Assembly.

The number of days of the session would be decided by Speaker V Sabapathy, on the recommendations of the Business Advisory Committee.

The opposition is likey to raise issues on implementation of welfare schemes and financial management.

Chief Minister N Rangasamy is in New Delhi, reportedly trying to meet  the union ministers, including Prime Minister, Home Minister and Finance Minister, with regard to various issues which were bothering the UT.
